Full Spectrum v. Broad Spectrum v. Isolate

Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a popular natural remedy used for various health conditions. It is one of the many compounds found in the cannabis plant. CBD is non-psychoactive and has gained popularity due to its potential therapeutic benefits, including reducing anxiety, pain relief, and more!

At Empire Hemp Co. we offer a wide range of CBD products produced with high-quality hemp sourced from pesticide-free farms in New York State. Our advanced extraction methods and third-party testing ensure that all products are pure and potent.

But did you know that CBD products come in different forms!? These include: full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate. Understanding the differences between the three types of CBD is crucial when choosing a CBD product that suits your needs.

Full Spectrum CBD

Full spectrum CBD is a product that contains all the naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and essential oils. Full spectrum CBD also contains trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3%), which is not enough to cause psychoactive effects.

The benefit of full spectrum CBD is that it provides the "entourage effect*," where all the compounds in the cannabis plant work together to enhance the therapeutic benefits of CBD. For example, terpenes and flavonoids can enhance the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD, while cannabinoids such as cannabigerol (CBG) and cannabinol (CBN) may provide additional pain relief.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad spectrum CBD is similar to full spectrum CBD, but it contains all the naturally occurring compounds in the cannabis plant except for THC. This means that broad spectrum CBD provides the benefits of the entourage effect without the risk of psychoactive effects from THC.

Broad spectrum CBD is an excellent option for individuals who cannot or prefer not to consume THC for various reasons, such as drug testing, etc.

CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, with no other compounds present in the product. CBD isolate is obtained through a process that extracts CBD from the cannabis plant and removes all other compounds, including THC, terpenes, and flavonoids.

The benefit of CBD isolate is that it is entirely THC-free, making it a good option for individuals who need to avoid THC for various reasons. However, CBD isolate does not provide the entourage effect, which means that its therapeutic effects may not be as potent as full spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD.

Ultimately, the choice between full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate CBD depends on individual preferences and needs. We recommend you consult with your healthcare professional before starting CBD products to ensure that it is safe and effective for your specific situation.
